Are bonds a better vehicle for storing wealth than Federal Reserve Notes?

 If you're like most Americans, your wealth is denominated in Federal Reserve Notes. You may have a money market account, or corporate bonds, or municipal bonds, or any other Government obligation, and therefore consider yourself well-diversified. However, any underlying instability in the Federal Reserve Note brings havoc in returns and yields with all federal reserve note denominated vehicles.
